Nur-Sultan, September 23. Mazhilis Chairman Nurlan Nigmatulin and Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin discussed the current areas of interparliamentary cooperation and the issues of the upcoming 4th meeting of speakers of Eurasian countries’ parliaments.
The two Speakers noted the strategic nature of the Kazakh-Russian relations, which are developing thanks to the two countries’ leaders. In this regard, Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized the special contribution of the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to strengthening relations with Russia and developing Eurasian cooperation.
The Chairman of the Mazhilis and the Speaker of the State Duma also noted the high level of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Nurlan Nigmatulin and Vyacheslav Volodin discussed plans for the upcoming events, which will be attended by parliament members of the two countries, and expressed confidence in a fruitful exchange of views on ensuring the safe and sustainable development of the Eurasian continent at the 4th meeting of speakers of Eurasian countries’ parliaments “Greater Eurasia: Dialogue. Trust. Partnership”.
At the same time, the two sides emphasized the unprecedented nature of the upcoming parliamentary forum both in terms of the number of participants and countries’ interest.
According to Nurlan Nigmatulin, parliamentary delegations from 65 countries and 14 international organizations will take part in the 4th meeting of speakers of Eurasian countries’ parliaments.
“It shows the forum’s relevance. Such a format, which allows both expressing oneself and having a dialogue, is interesting. Only dialogue brings trust. Therefore, it is very important for us to use the parliamentary dimension, parliamentary diplomacy to strengthen mutual understanding between the countries”, said the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
As the Mazhilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin emphasized in his turn, it is the expansion of the dialogue platform and joint efforts that help us find solutions to the challenges of our time.
