Nurlan Nigmatulin discusses inter-parliamentary cooperation with the Afghanistan Parliament Speaker

Nur-Sultan, September 22. Mazhilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin discussed strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation with the Chairman of the Wolesi Jirga of Afghanistan, Mir Rahman Rahmani, who arrived in Kazakhstan to attend the 4th meeting of speakers of Eurasian countries’ parliaments.

During the meeting, which took place in the Mazhilis today, Nurlan Nigmatulin congratulated his Afghan counterpart on his election as Chairman of the House and extended warm greetings to the people of Afghanistan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Independence of Afghanistan, which is celebrated this year.

The two sides paid attention to the stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan, Kazakhstan’s contribution to this process, and reforms in legal area.

Mir Rahman Rahmani expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by our country to the people of Afghanistan, stressing the importance of educational projects initiated by the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Speaking about the upcoming 4th meeting of parliamentary speakers, the Chairman of the Mazhilis Nurlan Nigmatulin expressed confidence in establishment of multilateral dialogue between the parliaments of European and Asian countries thanks to the forum.

Thanking for the invitation, the Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga of Afghanistan noted the relevance of this discussion platform and confirmed the readiness to strengthen the Kazakh-Afghan inter-parliamentary relations.
